punchtheflowers: (tired smile)

There was a very tired smile on the Venusaur's face as he exhaled right then. That rush of air was the sound of the world being lifted off his shoulders finally, and a visible shudder seemed to accompany it. An unburdening... peace, at last. But there was an unmistakable finality in it as well. His eyelids drooped, too heavy and clotted with blood to hold themselves aloft, and it was clear that his eyes had become too clouded with red to see Bulba any longer.

All of a sudden, he collapsed forward and fell too his knees, with his legs literally crumbling beneath him. The flowers, apparently too impatient to wait for his body to bleed out, had begun to violently sprout from beneath the skin. From what was visible beneath his clothes, tendrils and sprouts were breaking through the Venusaur's flesh, blooming as easily as they would have in soil. Each wound began to team with flora, so much so that it looked as though he had simply been bleeding petals instead of fluid.

The pool of overgrowth at his feet exploded in new vigour as he hit the ground, with blossoms of bright crimson erupting out all around him, each one out-doing the next. Cascades of colour swept across the Garden in celebration of beauty.

The earth was welcoming him back, both body and soul. That was what made the flora here so alive - the energy of life itself, departed from its mortal coil.

Vinnie was dying, and he was smiling as he did so. Weakly, he began to teeter forward in what felt like slow motion, succumbing to the overgrowth completely.

"There... I told you I'd be al'right."
