What: A little chat between Dimentio and Weavile, featuring Weavile's bluntness and Dimentio's love for metaphors.
Who: Weavile, Dimentio
When: July 9th, afternoon
Where: Weavile's office
Rating: PG
Dimentio: *knocks on the office door* Helloooo~?
Weavile *looks up from book*: Ah yes, please come in, Mr. Dimentio.
Dimentio: *opens the door and floats in. He's got several bandages on his face due to the fight with Luigi last night* Salutations, Mr. Weavile.
Weavile: ... *raises an eyebrow at the bandages* Please, take a seat. *motions to couch*
Dimentio: *ignores the couch, "sits" in midair* I'm not entirely sure why Miss Jolene wanted me to see you. I'm hoping she gave you a reason that you'll share with me. *smirks*
Weavile *unphased by the floating*: All she said was that you were "crazy". Hardly a proper grounds for such a suggestion but it doesn't really matter. Is there anything you would like to talk about?
Dimentio: *snorts at being called crazy, shakes his head* I suppose I've a number of issues to discuss. I've made a good number of enemies at this school, and I'd really prefer not to. Do you know if there's any way to get people to stop wanting to, say, have me burned at the stake, resurrected, and then drawn and quartered like a petty criminal?
Weavile: Well, clearly there must have been something you did to anger these people. I would suggest apologizing, but no doubt it will take more than that. *thinks for a moment* Perhaps giving a gift of apology or going out of your way to do something nice for them?
Dimentio: Ahaha, they'd no doubt be suspicious of any gift I give them. And I personally wouldn't blame them with my reputation... I can't think of anything nice I could do for anyone, either. Many of the wrongdoings I've done that have caused such vendettas against me are most likely unforgivable, anyway.
Weavile: Hm, I see... If you've caused such "vendettas," as you called them, then I have reason to believe this is most likely your own fault. Perhaps the best idea right now would be not to bother them anymore and hope that their grudges eventually die out...
Dimentio: My own fault? The majority of the time I was merely reacting to their own foolishness in, what I thought, was an appropriate manner. Plus, one specific event that happened, they've remembered it completely wrong because their brains were addled by hypnosis. But if they could remember it properly, they'd be in debt to me, and should be very grateful for my actions!
Weavile: This seems to be a matter of point of view, then. What you may think of as an "appropriate manner" clearly doesn't translate as such to the other party in question. Perhaps you should think of how the other person would feel before you act, no matter how much you may dislike or disapprove of their ideals and way of seeing things.
Dimentio: *laughs haughtily* I don't see why I should, if they refuse to see things from MY point of view. If I've been pegged as the bad guy, then shouldn't they, as the "good guys", at least try to be sympathetic and see what I was trying to do? They were blinded by misjudgment of my character, assumed the worst, and... * waves his hand vaguely* beat me before my plans could come to full fruition.
Weavile: It is my personal opinion that it is these "good guys" who usually write the books in black and white. As they say "the winner writes history," and more likely than not, it is the "good guys" who prevail. However, simply playing a tag game of revenge isn't going to make them think of you any differently. In fact, it will likely encourage them to see you as a "villain".
Dimentio: Yesss, this is true. *laughs* But old habits cling to me like steel shackles on my wrists, and it's far too difficult for me to break them. Perhaps I AM the villain, which I'm completely satisfied with. I just want those who haven't trifled with me in the past to cease bothering me. I'm like a hornet all by its lonesome. I only bite if they bother me first, which they INSIST on doing. The people around here take my jokes far too seriously, they retaliate with an insult, and a vicious cycle begins.
Weavile: Hm, yes, old habits are hard to get rid of. However, if it bothers you so much to mention it, then you clearly want something to change. *pauses* Have you ever thought of using your annoyance at others and focusing it into some more productive rather than just lashing out?
Dimentio: *thinks*... I have...But I'd most likely only be annoyed further if I can't get my point across to those who annoy me in the first place... Did you have any suggestions of how I could channel my annoyance into something productive?
Weavile: It's all a matter of personal choice. Do you have any hobbies or actives you like to do that won't bother people as much? Or perhaps something you've never tried before but simply had a passing interest in... Just something to take your mind off anyone who bothers you, a chance to "blow off some steam" without causing real trouble for others.
Dimentio: Ohh, I've tried so many things to keep me entertained over my vast lifespan. I've mastered several instruments, taken up a number of activities, and tried a multitude of games. The only game able to hold my interest for so long is gambling, with the lives of those below me.
Weavile *smirks*: Somehow I don't think the school will allow student gambling on campus. Is there anything you haven't done that you would like to do? Maybe even something... a bit out of character may be a good change of pace.
Dimentio: *snaps his fingers, jokingly* Ahh, what a shame. But something else....Hmm...*grimaces* A little distressing, I can't think of anything I'd enjoy. I've taken classes I normally wouldn't, even this little endeavor was an attempt to keep me from killing myself from sheer boredom. But thus far, my attention remains an uncatchable creature, too focused on causing mayhem to care for anything else.
Weavile *studies Dimentio a little*: I could list plenty of things, but there is no guarantee anything would catch your attention. All I can suggest right now is instead of causing destruction, maybe try to create something? Try new hobbies, even if you don't think you'll enjoy them. Who knows, maybe you'll surprise yourself.
Dimentio: *sighs and fingers one of the Band-Aids on his face* I can't see why I couldn't try... It's not like I've got anything to lose. *laughs*
Weavile: I apologize that I can't be any more help on this subject. It's all about trying new things and finding a niche that you enjoy that hopefully won't bother other people too much. *pauses* Was there anything else you wished to discuss?
Dimentio: I... don't think so. No, that was all that bothered me, really. *laughs, stands* I'll look into some extracurricular activities, or maybe pick up an old hobby. Something to distract myself from the stupidity around me~
Weavile *nods and stands*: Well, it certainly was a pleasure to speak with you. I wish you well in your activity hunt, and if you think of anything else, feel free to stop by again.
Dimentio: *nods, smiles* Same to you. I'll keep you in mind next time I'm troubled. *warps out of the room*
