A shy soldier amidst the snow

Who: Nephenee and YOU
What: Meeting people, being shown around, everything and anything
Where: Campus

Warnings: Depends on who shows up. Also grammar mangling.

The snow crunched under Nephenee's feet as she came to stand in front of the school. It had been a long journey, but finally she'd made it here, to this place that taught one how to fight and become stronger. It was so much bigger than she'd imagined, bigger than some of the buildings in Begnion even; how was she going to find her way around here? The sentinel shifted uncomfortably in her armor. Though glad she had worn her longer leg covers today, this armor wasn't suited to the cold, and her lance and shield felt like it might freeze to her hands. Clearly she hadn't figured on it being so cold when she arrived here.

She slung the shield over her back, walking now. Maybe if she looked around, she could find someone to help her?

[No, she has no clue what she's doing, other than having a few papers telling her a room number and some other things. She looks pretty lost. Come help?]

A black cat-like creature darted out in front of her, looking up and grinning before vanishing in a beam of red light.

At the other end of the beam was a man, staring at the spot where the beast had been as he put something into his jacket. "Forgive the intrusion. Weavile thrive in cold temperatures."

His eyes, icy as the snow around them, turned slowly up and down her. "...You are a warrior. That is the state of the world, what the human spirit has always held at its core..."

Archie had a grand total of three Pokemon. Somehow or other, he managed to misplace them. Sharpedo had been returned to his Pokeball, and Crobat was currently perched on his shoulder, but Mightyena was missing.

Well, not missing, he was currently charging head-long at Nephenee. The Dark-type Pokemon skidded to a halt in the snow, sniffing at her feet eagerly. He then proceeded to bark loudly. Apparently he'd found someone he liked.

"There you are, Mightyena!" Archie finally caught up to the dog, who barked again in greeting. Crobat remained perched on Archie's shoulders, looking quite bored. "Jeez, sorry 'bout that. Can't take my eye off him for a second. I'm Archie." He grinned at the girl. Quite cute, actually. Archie pat the dog Pokemon on the head - he'd found quite the interesting young lady~!

Link had been wandering about outside, admiring the snow-covered campus. It wasn't very often that snow fell in Ordon Village. The only other time that had seen snow was when he was in Snowpeak, and he was too busy to stay in the snow any more than he had to.

As Link strolled along in the snow, he noticed a girl in armor walking past, who looked a bit... lost. Well, all the more reason to ask her if she needed any help!

"Hey, there!" Link greeted Nephenee as he headed towards her.

No cute Pokemon, and no helpful young boys this time. Just a very disgruntled looking librarian, wrapped up in a winter coat. Nephenee's odd costume initially earned her only a quick double-take. Her lost expression, however, is what caused EVA to stop and turn around.

"Can I help you with something?" she asked, not even bothering to smile.

Nephenee startled as the strange creature ran up to her, and reached instinctively for her shield. It wasn't needed, however, as it vanished into a small circular object in the man's palm. "Uh, it's alright." What was a Weavile? Weren't they little bugs that got into grain?

The second statement puzzled her even more. Sorry Cyrus, she's not one for understanding the heavy, philosophical stuff. "I don't understand what ya mean, sir. I know how ta fight, yeah."

Well, what was this then? It was a strange wolf like creature, but it sure was cute. After she saw it was friendly, Nephenee smiled and scratched it behind the ears, "Hi there, little doggie. I ain't seen something like you before." She looked up to the voice, and the smile turned a bit nervous. He reminded her a bit of Devdan...

"It's okay, he's a cute dog...I'm Nephenee. Pleased to meet ya...you, Archie."

"Yeah, I'm trying ta find my way around here. This is Smash Academy, right?" She had to wonder a bit why the woman wasn't smiling. Sure it was cold, but it was so pretty outside!

There was a girl wearing multiple layers of sweaters and scarves. The girl seemed to follow this newcomer around wherever she went.

Spinny was actually quite curious of this new person. Wasn't she cold wearing just that? But she couldn't get herself to go up and ask the person. What if she took that shield that was on her back and hit her with it aaaahhhh...

It took a bit, but at some point as she wandered about, Nephenee realized she wasn't alone and, looking over her shoulder, spotted a quiet, cute little girl. "Aw, hi there."

OH NO She was caught! Spinny scrambled over to the nearest object to hide...or at least tried to. All the layers of clothes she was wearing ended up making her waddle over to the object, and she couldn't completely hide herself from view.

She was hating this season even more now, sob.

Whoops, look like she scared the poor thing. "Hey, it's okay." She set her spear down in the snow, and inched over carefully, keeping her voice quiet, "Not gonna hurt ya, little one. What's your name?"

Spinny peered out from behind the object (let's say it's a tree) and stared at the other. After what seemed like forever, Spinny finally opened her mouth.

"...Spin..arak..." Gosh darn it, she should just rename herself to 'Spinny,' it was so much easier to pronounce.

She gave a nod in response. "...Stu...dent..."

Okay, the person hadn't thrown the shield at her direction...yet. So far, this person didn't seem as dangerous as she thought.

"Neph...enee... came here....why?" Oh, the cold was making it even more difficult to speak than normal days. Yep, hating on winter some more.

Whoa, this person was offering to be friends with her! A new friend! What a joyous day! She gave a few nods, although that probably was rather difficult to see with all the clothing she was wearing.

"...Would...be...nice..." She managed to reply as she took a tiny step away from the tree.

The voice didn't quite match the outfit, EVA noted. Her expression unchanging, she nodded. "That's right. Are you looking for anywhere in particular? The dormitories are that way," she said, pointing at one of the larger buildings on campus.

"Same," Archie replied, grabbing the over-zealous dog by the fur around his neck. "Didn't mean for him to get loose. Not easy to keep a leash on him though!" Archie had tried once. It hadn't ended well. "So, you're a student here?" He asked Nephenee, lifting an eyebrow.

If Nephenee walked long enough, she was sure to encounter a strange sight. The chances of her seeing seeing an odd banana toting dinosaur sort of thing before now were probably slim, so it was sure to be a sight.

There was a young woman standing besides the magnificently strange beast, its head between her hands as she gently pet its muzzle. The creature rustled its... were those giant leaves? They looked like giant leaves.

"...it's up to you, you know," the woman was saying, apparently in the middle of a conversation. "Which would you rather do?"

"Um, I wear this so I can protect myself, not go around lookin for a fight. I jus wanna become stronger to help people." This man...he was really intimidating. She still didn't understand what he meant.

Yeah, Nephenee had never seen that sort of thing when she happened upon the pair on her way to the dorms, so she just stopped and looked at the...what in Tellius was that thing? The two seemed to be friends, so she eased a bit, but...

"..." Have an armored girl staring at you and your bananasaur, Erika.

The big leafy creature noticed the little soldier first. It nudged Erika to look in her direction. Someone was there. Confused, Erika looked and... "Oh!"

She smiled and gave the other girl a nod of her head. "Hello there... Are you new?" Erika couldn't recall seeing her before, or anyone in that particular kind of outfit. Goodness it looked so cold!
