"Mmmm... How to describe..." His head bobbed back and forth as he kept his eyes hooked on his work, "...Yes. But most people don't undergo formal education. Class differences prevent that, I guess you could put it." Pit wasn't talking solely about angels. Jeff's word choice suggested the territory as a whole, and that was how Pit was used to describing it. "When there are plenty of jobs, there are plenty of things to know. Carpenters, shepherds, musicians, philosophers... They're so different from each other, and you must learn your trade somehow. Most education is private, and public facilities can only be entered if a family has wealth. Taking up mentors is a popular way to get good at something, too. And of course, people should always be prepared to defend their land, so they are trained in the ways of the warrior. You're right about angels- most of them are trained to protect. They're winged guardians."

"I thiiink... for angels, it must be like this military you say," Pit told him. "And like people, whatever you need to know, there is always a way to find out." Not to mention there was plenty of time to do so. "But keep in mind, there are academic topics here that have never yet been touched up in... well..." He swallowed and paused his work to look at Jeff. "You know how we learn history here? It made me look at something in a new way. A lot of the early subject matter... I could easily compare it to long long ago, at the beginning of human civilizations. All those stories and textbook explanations. When humankind had plenty of hurdles to jump before they could reach where they are now." A genuine smile crossed his features. "Put yourself in my place. All this time, you were kept in the dark about, well... the future! To me, this is the future. So much has changed, and yet... people are still people. I'm proud of humankind. So very proud." He straightened out on the floor once more, his legs bent at an arrow. "Wonderful, amazing human beings."

"In fact... I almost feel sometimes that. That they have no need for gods anymore."
