For a moment, Uxie simply watcher her impassively, tails twitching.

The word "disappointing" once again game to mind. It was obvious that taking away too little made the barriers far too thin, too weak -- the smallest reminder of what had been taken away left them crumbling, sent her mind racing to reestablish the shattered pathways.

Better to simply undo the whole mess before it came crashing down. She had given him the word, after all. It was time for Uxie to uphold his end of the bargain.

"You," Uxie sighed pityingly, "are a terribly foolish girl." What a letdown. How miserably short of his expectations. "Please remember that you have brought this onto yourself." Finally, he rose, dangling limply in the air like a marionnette on a string. He glided over to Lash, reaching out both arms to comfort her. Gently, so gently, his hands cupped her face, coaxing her head back so she was looking at him.

"It hurts me to see a soul in such torment. Aiya... what can I do? Lift your head, poor creature. Open your eyes. I'll take your pain away."

It was time to give back what he'd taken. For Lash to remember. Those memories were now hers to do with as she saw fit. Slowly, the being of knowledge opened his eyes.
