With Samus taking the lead and cruise control on, it wasn't terribly long before she reached the halfway point. By now the sun had completely set, not that that was discernible in the pitch-black tunnel. From there it inclined out of the earth and into some foundation, though Samus couldn't tell exactly what. All she could tell was that she was getting close to the end.
Lo, she did eventually find the light at the end of the tunnel--a very dim light as the exit opened way into some ventilation ducts.
Just like old times.
She tentatively slowed her speed so not to make a sound until she found an open grate. With an extremely odd grace, she rolled off the ledge and at the same time out of the morph ball, landing on tile flooring.
A... boy's bathroom. Great.
Luckily an x-ray scan of the surrounding area showed no one nearby, so Samus waited for Jeff and Lash to arrive, hoping they'd be as quiet as she was.
