Give me the Jack-o-Lantern.
Who: OPEN LOG! But definitely Gold and N.
What: PPPPUMPKIN CARVING AND DECORATING.
Where: The courtyard, right outside the dorms.
When: October 21st - 24th. All day and all night, but mostly in the afternoon.
Warnings: Whole lot of pumpkin guts. And maybe some cussing, depending on who's carving.
LOOK AT ALL THESE PUMPKINS!
Two boys- Gold and N- have been very hard at work, collecting pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, colors, and variety, loading them up in little wagons, and carting them back to school. Maybe you noticed the small cluster of pumpkins in the quad grow larger and larger throughout the afternoon on Saturday.
Or maybe you didn't notice at all until the next morning, when tables and chairs were set up, and art supplies (undoubtedly raided from an art classroom), knives (probably taken right from under Nancy's nose), and carving kits were set out.
Regardless, you should probably get to decorating these things before they start to rot!
[Yo! This is probably gonna end up working a lot like the Chao Garden log, where you're definitely encouraged to start your own individual threads, but N and Gold will probably be popping up here and there, too.
+ DON'T FORGET TO ADD YOUR DUDE'S TAG TO THE LOG!]

carving with smash's number one manchild.
Ah, well, no need to worry about that right now. He grabbed a smaller pumpkin and snatched up a knife, deciding to cut through the pumpkin's top and rid the insides of their fruit.
Care to join him?

Mac was there not too far away having a really shitty time. He tried to puncture the inside of a large pumpkin...buuuut he forgot to de-seed it first. And not only was it hard to do, once he made a hole, the stuff just...came out.
It looked really gross if you took a moment to think about what this could look like.
So here he is, pouting. Eating seeds. Seeds of failure.
no subject
Well, that didn't seem to go over well. N frowned and headed for the pumpkin beside him, examining it and wondering if it was at all salvageable. If not, it could be used for pumpkin pie, maybe, so it wasn't going to go to waste, but... still!
"Did you not clean the insides first?" He grabbed for a knife, trying to cut a small hole at the top of the pumpkin to dig everything out.
no subject
Eating.
Seeds.
"Yeah I sorta."
Um.
"...Forgot."
Yeah.
no subject
Wait, but how could he-...
No, you know what? It was likely just an innocent mistake. It would be rude to question Mac over something as minor as that. Therefore, N shook his head, deeming it as not being a big deal.
"Well, then," he spoke, feeling a smile come on. "I will see if I can clean it, but if it is too late, we can continue eating it." Raw pumpkin? Maybe not the best idea, but it was worth a shot. It had to at least still be edible.
no subject
"Aw N...look, you don't hafta do that. It was my mistake so I'm takin' it like a man."
ALSO MAC IS EATING IT HE'S NOT DYING. He has an iron stomach but. Okay.
no subject
"I mustn't allow you to give up that quickly. It was a mistake, yes, but one mistake is not the end-all, be-all. You must still persist to achieve your dreams despite your shortcomings."
A pause, and then a jolly laugh. "That, or achieving a carved pumpkin."
no subject
"Sooooo," Mac said, giving up the ghost as he put his last seed in his mouth. Num. "What say you, how we go 'bout fixin' this disaster up?"
no subject
He didn't want either one of them to get accidentally cut. Eugh...
no subject
He takes a knife and just stares at the pumpkin. DEEP THOUGHTS.
"So um," Mac finally blurted out.
"There's already a big hole in it, what should we do?"
no subject
"We could make a large, round carving to adhere to the hole," he spoke, seeming a bit unsure. "Spoinks have large orbs on their heads... so perhaps we can carve its body beneath the large hole."
He remembered saving a little Spoink in Hoenn because it stopped bouncing. It nearly died! How frightening.
SO. SHORT. SO. SORRY. ; ;
He can assume that's what it is, being N and all.
ahahaha s'alright!!
N hefted the pumpkin fully onto his lap and gestured for a full, untouched one. "I can help you deseed that one so you can carve it into something you know. We can carve side-by-side."
Re: ahahaha s'alright!!
"Alright so um..." HRMM deep thinking. THIS WILL ONLY BE FAIR IF. "If you're gonna do a Pokemon, I will too! I'm gonna go make..."
What one does he know that N will know that won't offend either of the Pokefriends alongside them.
"I'm gonna do Tepig."
Yyyyeaaah, goin' to Unova like a boss.
no subject
"A Tepig! A fine choice," praised N, finishing the rest of the deseeding process and dumping them all into the designated pile. He begins to work immediately, carving out the Spoink's ears.
"We will both be carving pig Pokemon. Is this why you chose Tepig? It makes our work feel much more connected, don't you think?"
He smiled fondly. That was just precious.
no subject
Really, it was a coincidence. It was the first thing that popped up. But it made N happy so. Let's go with it.
"Sounds like a nice thing when ya put it like that. So alright! We're both makin' pig Pokemon pumpkins, let's go for it, yeah?"
He stared carving his, now deseeded pumpkin.
no subject
Admittedly, N was beginning to get hungry. Maybe he'd use one of the pumpkins he got with Gold to make a pumpkin pie
and successfully make the crust runny and disgusting. That'd be a nice idea. For now, however, his focus was carving. How did it turn out?
Bad.
Because he kind of dropped it hole-first, resulting in one hell of a nasty smashed pumpkin. Oops.
no subject
Nooooo...
Mac looked at the sad pumpkin, then at the sad face N made. Then at the pumpkin. Then at N.
Let's make this turn happy real fast, real fast c'mon. Mac you can do this, turn this around.
"Hey...we can work on this one together, 'kay?"
no subject
"Oh... yes, yes we can," he spoke, his frown still there. Spoink pumpkin, no... "I suppose we will only have one pig to account for."
He scooted next to him so they could work on the cute little thing together, but not without shooting one more respectful glance at the ruined fruit on the floor. Gone, but never forgotten.
Oh god who gave him a knife

She wonders what she'll make her pumpkin into once she's done gutting it.
Come bother her!

There was a blade offered by woman that seemed to appear out of nowhere all of a sudden. She stared passively at the pumpking that is being tortured then raised eyebrows at the girls.
"Cut the insides close to the thick part and then scrape it out."
no subject
Noel looked around, trying to find the source of that voice. She was distracted by the pumpkin carving, so she wasn't paying much attention to other things. When she finally saw this woman, she jumped in her seat. It was a surprise to see her, Noel could have sworn no one else was around just a second ago.
"O-Oh, h-hello." She was surprised, give her a minute to recuperate as she eyes the blade this woman held.

Having company was always nice.
no subject
"Ai, hello there!"
Guy in a coat with purple hair at 6 o'clock.
no subject
"Garry the Human! Hello! Did you come to paint pumpkins, too? Gold says most people carve them, but I thought painting would be more fun!" she chirped in reply, seeming quite happy.
no subject
Garry took a seat next to her, unsurprising to see Ai with a large pumpkin. He's seen her strength firsthand.
"It looks like a nice little thing, maybe I will paint one."
It won't be anything scary, hurhurr.
no subject
She nodded back at him, then looked back at the array of pumpkins.
"Do you need help carrying one? I can help!"
no subject
"Practicing carving, I see. How goes it?"
no subject
Still, she looked up at Ondrea with a bright grin and greeted the Blaziken, "Hi! It's going very well, I think!
"Are you going to carve, too? Come carve next to me! My name is Ai."
no subject
"I thought about it." And it seems she was interested, since she took a seat right next to the pikmin. She grabbed her own pumpkin, as well as a knife, and got to work. "My name is Ondrea, by the way. It's nice to meet you."
no subject
Sorry, Ondrea, being adorable was kind of her "thing.""Ondrea?" Ai repeated, relieving her pumpkin of the knife she had managed to push into it. "Are you a human? A lot of my friends are humans. I'm not! And I am not a Pokemon either! I am a Pikmin!"
She hesitated a second, and then added, "And it's very very nice to meet you, too!"
no subject
That's fine, unless it interferes with Ondrea's "thing"."Yes," Ondrea started, pulling some of the insides of her pumpkin out. "That's my name. As for my species, I'm a Pokemon, specifically a Blaziken."
Wait...hold on. What the bloody Hell was a Pikmin? "...could you give me some information as to what a Pikmin is...exactly?"
no subject
"Yes, of course! A lot of people have never heard of Pikmin, so it's alright. Pikmin are very small creatures. They are like animals, but also like plants!" she explained. She paused to motion to the leaf tucked into her hair. With a smile, she told Ondrea, "This is attached to my head!"

But maybe he'd give painting a pumpkin a shot. Marie picked a round, white pumpkin, and carried it over to a table with paints and paintbrushes set out. He held a paint brush and stared at the pumpkin, accomplishing absolutely nothing.
no subject
This time when she was going past she noticed a certain turtle was also visiting the little stations, and Blue decided that this time was the best time to stop by.
She sidled up to the table with a pale yellow pumpkin in her arms and offered Marie a soft smile. "Would you mind if I joined you?"
no subject
"Oh, uh... Yeah, go ahead, if you want to, I guess," he mumbled. Nervously he put the paintbrush back down and put his hands on the table instead.
no subject
Katarina eyed her tenth pumpkin, her elbow leaned on the table and supporting her head while holding pumpkin that had quite a freaky look on it. She tsked and tossed the pumpkin on the table next to the others.
Not scary enough. She sighed, muttering:"Where's Fiddlesticks when you need him?"
