R.O.B. still didn't understand the concept of humor. Like so many more complex emotions, it was something that still eluded his ability to comprehend or experience. And from what he knew, April 1st, or April Fools Day, was a day that revolved around the concept, with jokes and pranks being the order of the day. And he decided that there would be no better way to try and understand humor than to participate in the festivities.

Cyrus was rather tired, having stayed awake all night so as to prevent anybody from pranking his room. It was his understanding that pranks were meant to stop at noon, but he didn't fully trust anyone to keep to that, so his room was guarded by Gyarados and Weavile while he stepped out for a few moments.

Usually he avoided caffinated drinks aside from his tea, but he had a goal of a few more hours. And there was coffee in the common room.

And R.O.B. was prepared for him. He had a hiding place in the common room, staked out near the coffee machine. Little did Cyrus know that R.O.B. replaced the regular coffee with... DECAF.

Cyrus had no way of telling the difference, unaccustomed as he was to the taste of coffee.

Besides, he gulped it down anyway.

Jon was in the kitchen, doing terrible things to some steaks, eggs, sausage and what was apparently going to be toast.

April first is one of his least favorite days of the year.

Nobody was safe from the mad prankster, not even in the kitchen. As Jon would soon find out when he tried to make his toast and realized... that the TOASTER WASN'T PLUGGED IN!

After a few minutes of his bread continuing to be bread, Jon slapped the side of the toaster.

"Oi. Hurry up."

He had so little patience with machinery as it was - toasters not toasting was enough to make him mad.

Goose, evening, water fountain

He was almost done with his evening shift. Perfect timing, too; Goose was more than ready to hit up the bar for their April Fool's Mystery Boozey Roulette night. The possibility of guzzling a drink with scorpion tails inside? Always a rush! What the hell.

He leaned over to one of the fountains and firmly pressed at the usual button, looking to have a sip to hold him over. He was pretty dry.

Except that R.O.B. had been there already. And when he tried to get his drink of water, he would soon learn that... the WATER WAS ON HIGHER THAN USUAL!

"Pthhhhhhthtththth!" Goose sputtered and wiped at his face after impact. Thankfully, his glasses preventing his eyes from being doused, but STILL.

"What the hell!"

Phoenix, vending machine, midday

Phoenix knew that today was April 1st by virtue of looking at his calendar. However, it didn't register with him the significance of the day at first. No, so he was just minding his own business, stopping by a vending machine to grab a soda.

And when Phoenix pressed the button to dispense the soda, he would find that... the machine dispensed THE WRONG SODA!

"Huh," Phoenix said when he pulled out a Sprite. "I thought I pushed the Coke button. Oh well."

And so Phoenix waltzed on his merry way with the wrong soda.

Today felt like a really good video game day. Ness was traveling to the common room to do just that. YEAAAHHH.

Wouldn't Ness be in for a surprise? For when he went to turn on his console, he would soon learn that... it was plugged into a DIFFERENT INPUT ON THE TV!

Bulba was taking the "take care of the greenhouse" thing really seriously and was putting in a lot of extra hours out there. It was a good way to pass the time, job or not, and he probably would have been out there regardless. The fact that it was April Fool's day flew entirely over his head.

And when Bulba went to the garden, he would find mixed in between the flowers... NOVELTY PLASTIC DANCING FLOWERS!

The classic library system was still working pretty well. Vianca had no intentions of changing it, but she did think it would be a good idea to make a back up. Just in case. She knew eventually there might be another librarian that didn't know the old system, because that was what society was doing. Weep.

So she was doing just that, going through hundreds of tiny cards and transcribing them into the computer system.

And she would soon learn that some of the stacks of cards... WERE NOT IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER!
