Who: Marie and Spinny
What: Shopping and also stuff.
Where: AROUND.
When: Tuesday afternoon.
Warnings: A LOT OF SEX AND DRUGS.

Marie was having a time. Between his fight with Bulba weeks ago, the uneasiness between him and his team, Spinny's changes after she evolved, and the rest of Green team showing up again, Marie was having a time. He hadn't felt particularly great in a good while. Not that there weren't things that made him smile sometimes...

For example- despite the changes to her appearance- Spinny being back.

So when Spinny had timidly invited Marie to go shopping, of course he said yes. Just spending time with her, no matter what it was, seemed... nice. Besides, he'd been meaning to ask her about something anyway. That afternoon he made his way over to her dorm, knocked quietly, and waited for her to answer.

Spinny was so very embarrassed. It was true she wanted to go out on a date and shop around like how she read up on the internet, but to think back at how she was able to ask Marie to go shopping together was so outrageously courageous that she was going to faint. She was sitting at her bed, hugging onto her pillow as she waited. When she heard the knock at the door, she jumped into the air and started fumbling around. It took all of two minutes to get herself to calm down and slowly open the door.

"...Hello..." Her voice betrayed all the uneasiness and excitement she was feeling at the moment.

Marie thought he might have heard a bump or two before the door opened, but he brushed it aside as nothing.

They had hugged the night Spinny came back, but it had actually been quite a while since they'd done anything close to a date. While he was nervous about it, he was still excited to spend time with her anyway. When she opened the door, he couldn't help but crack a nervous smile at her.

"Hi," he replied timidly. He debated, for a moment, offering his hand to her. But he decided against it, instead just asking, "Are you ready to go?"

Spinny gave a nod as she quietly stepped out from her room, closing the door behind her. She got her wallet, she got the route they needed to take to get to the shopping center in her mind, everything was set!

"Let's...get...going..." She said as she stepped away from the doorway. She glanced down at Marie's hand, wondering if she could hold hands with him while they walked down for a brief moment. No, that was too out of the line! She already used up her courage asking about shopping, she couldn't possibly take the action so bold!

So she ended up fumbling around with her sleeves as the two started walking.

"Okay."

Once Spinny started fidgeting with her sleeves, Marie thought about grabbing her hand for a second time. He hesitated, moving his arm in her direction for the briefest moment. Ultimately, he opted to shove his hands in his pockets instead. Maybe once they got outside.

Which didn't take them too long. Marie powerwalked ahead of the Ariados and held the door open for her. "So what are you shopping for, exactly?" he asked, still pushing his back up against the door.

"Well..." Spinny started off quietly, putting a hand to her chin as she walked out. "...I was... thinking of... some new... clothes..."

And anything else, if Marie preferred. Spinny couldn't get herself to say that, though as she started getting embarrassed about it.

"...Different outfits..." She said instead.

Once Spinny was outside, Marie jogged a foot or two to catch up with her again. For whatever reason, his face felt a little hot at the idea of helping her shop for clothing. He knew it wasn't going to be anything worth feeling embarrassed about, but he couldn't help it... At first, instead of saying anything, he just nodded.

After they had walked a little, Marie finally worked up the courage to reach over and grab her hand. As subtly as possible.

"Do you know where you want to go?"

Spinny was about to answer the other when she felt Marie's hand against hers. She jumped in surprise before shifting slightly away, embarrassed and ashamed of her being so jumpy.

"...Sorry..." She said as she looked down at her feet.

Marie drew his hand away from Spinny's immediately after she jumped. He balled his hand into fist, feeling rather embarrassed, and with his free hand, he idly massaged his knuckles as if he had just burned himself there.

"It's okay. We don't have to..." he replied, trying his best to sound like he didn't mind.

And then there was a few minutes of quiet. Spinny fumbled around again as she stepped closer to Marie before slowly reaching over for his hand.

"I was...thinking...of some... window...shopping..." It seemed like that was a good way to spend time while going outside.

Those few minutes of quiet felt like they lasted forever. Had he seriously offended her? Was he moving too fast after just having been reunited? Was she not interested in him anymore? Marie began to panic. And then Spinny reached for his hand again and he breathed an extended sigh of relief. He held her hand and smiled awkwardly.

"Okay."

By that point, they were getting closer to the city and the shops.

The blush on her face went away as they walked, and as they got to the shops she started becoming cheerful and a bit more energetic, her excitement coming back to her...although that may have been something difficult to read from her somewhat blank face.

"I hope... I brought enough money..." She said as she gazed at the store windows with sparkling eyes.

While Spinny's blush disappeared, Marie's deepened. Holding Spinny's hand again- as well as seeing her body language change to something more cheerful and less nervous- was exciting. He was getting better at not relying on facial expressions to read her mood, and he was pretty sure she was happy. And that was enough to make Marie blush.

"If you find something you really like that you don't have enough for..." Marie started, his voice cracking somewhere in between, "I could try and pay for it." With all that money he doesn't have, of course.

He offered her a nervous smile after a short pause, then added; "I wanna ask you something, actually."

She was so into looking at what this particular store was selling, that she almost missed the last bit when the other spoke. She took her eyes off of the display and gazed over at Marie.

"...What... is it?" She asked.

As soon as Spinny's eyes met his, Marie glanced away. He smiled shyly to himself and replied, "There's this concert coming up. Justin Biever is coming to FDC," he paused to laugh quietly, nervously (or excitedly), then continued, "And I was wondering if you... you know... wanted to come with me? And the rest of my team, I mean."

When he finally managed to sputter it out, he looked back at Spinny and kept up his shy, awkward smile.

"You don't have to. Just thought it would be fun... I dunno."
