Nothing like one last hurrah before summer's over and you have to go back to school, right? Even if the water level's pretty high right now, it's-- what do you mean this is low tide? Really?
Well, at least there's still a sliver of sand left to chill out on, make sandcastles, have evening bonfires, and maybe you can even squeeze in a game of
dead or alive
beach volleyball. The sun's bright and warm and there's a refreshing sea breeze washing over the coast. Just be careful in the water and have a good time.

: Spear Pillar! Well, the Spear Pillar stage in the stadiumWhen
: Monday night
It was imperfect. What the stadium's programming summoned as the Spear Pillar was ever so close, but just short of its true image. For starters, that tree there. The true place was barren of any life, in a primal state of everpresent beginning and ending. Even the tree's apparent deadness, perhaps meant to represent that cycle, was inappropriate.
Cyrus wondered who had programmed it. Who had been there, to get such massive details wrong yet even the smallest carvings on the altars correct?
At that peak, he let his mind wander. That was what he had come there for.( And furthermore )
WHO: Mona and Pit
WHAT: Pit's first day as a delivery boy! Mona's gonna show him some tips. Heheh.
WHERE: Mona's new pizza place that just opened up and beyond- wherever cries for pizza can be heard.
WHEN: Let's go with 8/18!
WHY WARNINGS: Uhhhhhunruly customers, maybe? Weirdos? Delivery driving is full of surprises!
Out of all the jobs Pit was offered by his friends, delivering pizza door to door seemed the most rewarding, if rewarding meant fun and compelling. As far as earning money went, he could probably stand to aim higher (or pray for excellent tips). But he didn't care. He planned on taking up multiple gigs anyway.
And besides! Mona seemed ultra cool. He couldn't wait to team up with her on his first job. Today was the day, so he sprung out of bed bright and early, at least two hours before he even needed to. The hour was finally here. Pit stood in front of the brand spanking new building and was overtaken with excitement.
"Oh man. This is gonna be great!"
He hustled inside, quick to make his presence known with a spirited fist pump. "I made it! And I'm ready to make some dough! Pizza dough, that is."
What: PUNCH LOG
Where: THE STADIUM
Warnings: THINGS GETTING PUNCHED
Kumatora needed to blow off some steam. It was getting too tense around here, and she wanted nothing more than to punch something. Hard. Fortunately, there was a brand new sandbag waiting for her in the stadium. With its creepy dead eyes. She was gonna punch those first.
She was spending an awful lot of time there recently. Maybe it was more than relieving stress- like she was preparing for something. Either way, she might be there when you're there, and she's open for a spar... once she punches out the sandbag, of course.

Fun! Relaxation! Video Games! Stealing Wario's car! And of course a run in with Pizza Dinosaur too.Where:
The busting town of Diamond City, located on the beautiful island of who knows in the Super Mario universe somewhere. When:
Weekend of August 8th and 9thWarnings:
Lots of bizarre shenanigans are bound to happen. Tread carefully my friends.Music: HURRY UP!
Diamond City. The tropical island hometown of Mona. A busy, bustling city where humans, animal people, and all manner of life forms co-existed happily with one another. A city that sometimes never slept and never for a second held a dull moment. A lively downtown proved fruitful of entertainment with everything from football games to energetic nightclubs that stayed open to the wee hours of the morning. If the busyness of the heart proved too intimidating, one could find themselves on the calmer outskirts of the town where farm fields rolled out amongst the expanding landscape.
Traveling deeper into the island gave way to forests and thick jungles hiding ancient temples awaiting to be discovered and it's treasures plundered. If none of the scenes tickled one's fancy, a leisurely day along Diamond City's beaches were an ideal scene to kick back and catch the rays. And a sunburn if not careful. For further relaxation there was always Tomorrow Hill, where one could see what the events of tomorrow would bring. A freaky anomaly caused by timezones? No one really knows.
By standing out on the docks near the lighthouse, a person could gaze out upon the vast ocean towards the intriguing lab of the Crygors mounted on a small speck of an island. And if one's eyes ventured up to the sky above, a pig-like spaceship could sometimes be seen weaving in and out of clouds. A UFO? Is real? Oh yeah, you bet. As real as the yellow Taxi flying through the air.
You might also want to watch where you step carefully while indulging in Diamond City. Little, elusive creatures known as Fronks tended to skirt around like cockroaches looking for a bit of fun to cause. Catch them if you can, rumor has it around town that Fronks make very good pets!
Despite the hustle and bustle, the variety of life and archeological finds to be had, Diamond City was known famously for it's exports in video games. Made in house at the booming company known as Wario Ware, Inc. located on a mountain, the business proves to be a top contender to video game rivals such as the likes of Diamond City Software and Nintendo.
Along with detailing her home town to friends over the course of her stay at Smash Academy, a sort of melancholy of homesickness had proceeded to ail Mona in the past weeks. All of these sights and more were the soul reason Mona felt compelled to return home for a visit before the school year started anew. Before heading back to the books, the red head wanted nothing more than to bring her new friends from the academy for one last final hurrah of summer in her hometown. Show them all her city had to offer and more.
Of course as said, there was never a dull moment in Diamond City, not even while on a small visit.
Who: Lucca, damaged robots, nosy onlookers (threadjacking encouraged)
What: August repair log!
Where: Machine shop
When: Friday nights
Warnings: T for TECHNOBABBLE
Lucca's posted reminders about open repairs on Fridays seems to be working. At first, Lucca would quietly slip into the machine shop repair bay alone, with nothing but some uncomfortable-looking tools and her diagnostic equipment and wait for several hours in a darkened room that smelled faintly of coolant and burnt metal.
Now... she's still in the same room, but her increased self-confidence means that she's made the whole deal her own. The lights are ON now, she's commandeered the shop stereo for some light music to chase off the silence, and there are a couple six-packs of e-tanks and oil cans (and yes, even some soda) for refreshments. She's got an assistant now too! (The fact that it's her boyfriend, and they're regularly spending several hours along together, is completely unrelated.)
She's even borrowed a privacy screen from the nurse's office and set it behind the far bench, just in case someone comes in with a part broken off that doesn't normally see daylight. Hey, she's not here to judge, she's here to repair.
With the investigations and newfound monsters around the city, any 'bot could get themselves hurt. Whether you're a patient, a coolant donor, a robot enthusiast or a curious staff member, she'd be happy to say hi.
Who: Wave, Tails
What: Time to
go on a date check out the clock tower.
Where: The Clock Tower
Warnings: C for CLOCKS
Finally things were starting to get interesting around here, Wave thought. All of the recent activity actually gave her something to occupy herself with, rather than just being bored in the security office. And now it was time to take a more proactive role.
Tails suggested visiting the clock tower. Wave of course agreed. She wasn't sure yet what it had more to do with, actual curiosity, or the crush that she was developing on him. She had no idea, but that wouldn't stop her from going on the expedition anyway.
So she waited for him to arrive, checking her watch again, and again. It had only been a couple of minutes, she didn't know why she was so impatient...
Who: Shantae, Dance Club
What: Time for some more belly dancing, Dance Club.
Where: Dance Studio
When: Friday August 7
Warnings: B for BELLIES
With all the chaos going on, the people needed something fun to do. Something to take their minds off of the uncertainty and mystery. Luckily, Shantae was ready to provide.
"All right," she said, "today we're going to be revisiting belly dancing. It's been a little while since we tried this, so I want to check on everyone's form and show some new steps!" she explained eagerly. "So, anyone want to start off with a demo of what they learned last time?"
Who: Blaze, Sonic, Max, and Anyone Who Wants To join In
What: Investigating the volcano for anything weird
Where: The volcano
When: August 8
Warnings: M for MAGMA
Blaze had wanted to return to her own world for the summer holiday, but it seemed that wouldn't be happening... Not with all the strange things happening in FDC. Strange earthquakes, rising water levels, monster attacks... Something was definitely up. She had a duty to investigate, to do what she could to help. The notion of checking out the volcano again made sense; seismic activity could be linked to volcanic activity, she she had been there before. She knew the way. And of course, naturally there were others who wanted to join in the search.
She waited outside the volcano, looking up at the looming peak, waiting for the others to arrive. Something did feel ominous this time, not like it felt last time at all...
Who: Cyrus and YOU!
What: Moon viewing!
Where: School rooftop
When: Did you know last weekend was a blue moon? Last weekend, the end of July.
Impromptu signs had gone up around the school, seemingly out of nowhere. If anybody saw them go up, they might see a black and red ferretlike creature pinning them up in a flash.
Moon viewing party! How fun!
Of course the fliers left out that it was being facilitated by Cyrus but still, fun! If he could be avoided. Which was unlikely.
But looking at the night sky would be nice. And he didn't specifically ban snacks or whatever...
Who: Lucca, Zero
What: Zero uses
deus ex machina time travel to discover his past.
Where: The world of 20XX
When: 20XX, around lunchtime.
Warnings: Confusing timelines, drama, temporal rectal pulls, steampunk.
Zero had approached Lucca at the end of prom, and spoke to her. Can she really travel through time? Can she see the future? Change the past? Prevent terrible things from happening to the world, if she could?
Which... of course she would. She's helped to do just that, after all.
Changing the past to alter the future was a dangerous thing... The butterfly effect was a principle that had razor-sharp wings when it came to time travel. According to Gaspar, the overall effect must be beneficial to the time-stream to keep the result from turning into a disaster. But... there was nothing wrong with traveling to the past to look.
Zero had lost his memory, and was suspicious that a terrible war had been his fault. This is the kind of thing that would drive Lucca crazy, herself: not KNOWING. She couldn't possibly not help him.
So, a few weeks later, they agreed to go together to Rock's world and Zero's time to find out. The "where" was first, and Lucca stepped out in the middle of a shiny, futuristic-looking city park from Zero's past that held no clue as to the torment it would endure hundreds of years later. Was that a robotic bird in the trees?
"According to the GPS, this is about a mile away from where it happened..." Lucca tells him, not directly looking at the reploid because she's distracted by the bird.
Who: Bug chasers
What: Following the
butterflies moth flies.
Where: The illustrious woods near the Academy
When: July 27th.
Rating: General mysteries and shenanigans.
The moths were still there. They hadn't gone anywhere.
Except, actually, they had. All at once, they moved. The ones fluttering around mischevious children, the ones evading bug nuts, the ones swarming every source of light, it was all of them. Their dusty wings sent them all heading in a particular direction, almost beckoning people to follow their sudden migration.
Which they were, quite frankly.
If the sense of curiosity got feet moving, then such inquiring feet were led to the edge of the forest where a stream of moths were pouring and weaving into the trees.
WELL. Gosh. What to do about that.
Sonny and Cyrus!What:
Taco Tuesday backdated to Friday! ...maybe they should have fajitas...?Where:
FDCs premier Taco Restaurant, Taco Libre! When:
It's Cyrus and Sonny so there's probably not going to be anything!
So, this was... a thing.
Most people were aware of Sunshine Mortimer's penchant for being friendly to people who perhaps didn't deserve it. He'd tried to befriend Blood Falcon much to everyone's chagrin. When the topic of his employment came up the response 'Wait!? You work for BOWSER!?' was a thing that often happened. (Though, to be entirely fair he literally thought Bowser was the nicest guy you could ever meet. Frankly, he ought to be an inspiration to all who knew him.) And this would probably be no different. 'Wait!? You took CYRUS out for tacos!?'
Yes, world. Sonny was taking Cyrus out for Tacos. Deal. With. It.
His theory was this: Befriend a bad guy, turn him good, or just be there to help stop him if things get out of hand. Flawless logic.
They had arranged a time and place and Sonny was early, eager to get his taco on. Now all that remained was to wait for his new Pal!
Who: Sonny and Mesprit
What: Chilling by the larger lake!
Where: By the lake!
When: July 11 (Backdating to a little bit before Lake Explorations.)
Warnings: Probably not!
Sonny Moe loved hanging out by the lake. Even with its bits of Egg Carrier strewn around and the fact that it was rising, it was still one of his favorite places. He loved playing with the Chao and napping in the sunshine and playing his Ukulele to the gentle slapping of water on the shore.
Today, he was practicing a new song he'd been learning
. Every so often, though, he was sure he could see something move out of the corner of his eye! It was blue, but it was no Chao he'd ever seen before!
Well. Maybe if he kept playing, it would get curious and come over to say Hello?
He could only hope!
"Fly me too the moon, and let me play among the stars..."
